After a three-year training as a goldsmith Irmgard Zeitler studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich as well as the Royal College of Fine Arts in London finishing with a master degree.

Zeitler Jewellery has been presented and acknowledged in Germany as well as in the international world. Her work is part of the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the RSDI-Museum, Providence. During the 1980’s she designed and produced costume jewellery in collaboration with Gabi Dziuba, amongst others for Helmut Lang.
 
Since 1989 Irmgard Zeitler has been designing and creating her own jewellery in her studio in Munich. In June 2015 she opend her new  atelier/showroom at Gollierstrasse 54  in Munich.
